We then decided to rest afterwards and we had Flammkuchen for dinner. Finally, we decided to just take a break for the night and get things ready for school on Monday.

Sunday, June 10th: Peter
I first started off the day by waking up late after coming back late from Paris (we got home at 3:00 am). We then had breakfast and then we planned to do an activity with the rest of the group. We decided to go to the "Fun Forest". It was a climbing area in a forest and we all enjoyed it (even though some of us didn't do as much as others).
Saturday, June 9 - Elisha
Hello, Elisha again. Today nothing big really happened. We had Clarah's birthday party with her family though. All day Clarah and I hung out in her bedroom doing nothing besides messing around on our phones and listening to music like normal until about 4:00. Then we had to set up tables inside the house since it was raining and the whole family helped. The party itself was kind of awkward, but there were 2 family members who lived in American and spoke English fluently so it was nice to have a conversation without it being awkward. My housemom made everything homemade and had 3 different desserts and it was so good!!! After attending 2 birthday parties I realized they are the same as American birthday parties.
Mom made a bunch of food for this birthday party. There was this pork chop type of meat with a slice of American cheese, pineapple and a cherry (it looked a little odd but it surprisingly tasted too good) steamed veggies, a different type of veggies with some cheese and beans on it and it was baked, rice, and some cold tomato soup. Dessert was homemade marzipan cake from grandma, tiramisu and a yogurt with sliced strawberries. EVERYTHING was homemade and it was amazing. I have no idea how mom did it all in one day, she's like a chef.

Saturday, June 9: Caleb
Hello again! Today, Markus and I took a trip to Europa Park. We woke up at 5:00 am and went to the bus stop where we met up with Kira and Marita. We then rode the bus for approximately 3 hours until we reached the park.
The park itself is split up into several different areas, each themed after a different country in Europe. My favorite was the Nordic area. While we were there, we rode a bunch of roller coasters, but before we left, it started to rain really heavily, so we missed out on some of the rides. At the end of the day, we rode the bus and headed home.

Friday, June 8 - Drew
For the first part of the day we went to school. Not much happened there. After school Sofia (my partner), Nalie, Emma, and I went to get ice cream. Emma also decided it would be a good idea to get pizza so we almost missed our bus. The four of us got to Sofia's home, ate food, then we sat outside and chilled in the garden. Later in the evening, Sofia's friends came over and we watched Deadpool and listened to music then her friends went home and the day was over.
Friday, June 8 - Peter
First we woke up to a good breakfast. Shortly after, we left for school, which began the day. At school we didn't have any classes like Music or English that I could easily participate but luckily we had homeroom where we discussed our goodbye party and practiced our dance.
After school I went to go watch some of Sebastian's family play a hobby game of fussball (soccer). After their first game my host mom and I went to Globus for groceries (its bigger than Wal-Mart!!)
Later in the day we went to a small party where we hung out with some other GAPPies and met some other new people as well. Then we went home to get ready (sleep) to leave for Paris at 5AM on Saturday.

Thursday, June 7 - Drew
A small group of GAPPies went to Trier to go on a shopping/sightseeing trip. We traveled for a few hours in the morning and were met by rain when we arrived. This caused most of us to start running around frantically trying to stay dry. It also made Emma pull out her ugly lime green rain pancho. Later in the day we shopped and bought food. We also went inside a massive church. It took a long time, but after hours of walking around I realized I was the only guy there. That explained why we were going in so many clothing stores. We walked around and looked at buildings for a little bit and then we ate burgers and took more pictures and then went home.
(NB from Frau S - Trier is the oldest Roman settlement north of the Alps. You may have heard of the Porta Nigra. Hopefully the group that went to Trier will share some photos! )

Thursday, June 7 - Caleb
Hello! Caleb here! My exchange partner Markus and I spend the day Thursday in Saarbrucken, the capitol of Saarland and spend the day shopping with some of the other GAPPies.
We spend most of our time before lunch at a mall called the Europa Gallerie where we met up with Mona, Hannah, Elisha, and Clara. We wandered around visiting the various shops in the mall and then met up with Gabe and his partner Florian at a shop called The Flying Tiger.
After we finished up at the Galleria, we went to an art store and browsed their collection of supplies. We also found a couple of really creepy masks that Gabe bought. After that we went to Game Stop where they had a bunch of really cool and nerdy video game related things, not just video games.
For lunch we stopped at Pizza Hut which is a little bit better in Germany than it is back in the states. There I drank a Fanta which is also better here. After lunch we made a quick stop by a small skate shop and a very small record store and then we headed back home on the train.
